On April 25th, we officially opened The Anndore House and its restaurant Constantine with a private gala and a surprise production of Best Kept Secrets that wowed the nearly 400 guests.

Since 1955, the property has welcomed some of the city’s quirkiest personalities. The production, created and performed by Theatre by Committee and Coco & Cowe, paid homage to some of The Anndore House’s more notable guests, and to its three most iconic decades: the 50s, 70s and today. The crowd was into it, and a few guests even got to participate in the show.

The gala was spread out over four floors, representing the three decades. The fourth floor was 50s themed with sock-hoppers and jazz, the third floor was transformed into a 70s disco and the second floor was a contemporary showcase featuring local drag superstar Lucy Flawless (Eric Rich), a live painter creating the Toronto skyline and more.

Guests also got a first taste of the food at Constantine, the property’s restaurant created by Chef Craig Harding and AlterEgo, the team behind Dundas West favourite La Palma.
